~ Tami's Journey ~ (in her words from 2019)

My life was flipped upside down with one phone call on Friday, November 1st - it’s MELANOMA!!

Seemed like a simple process at the time to remove a mole on my right ankle and move on with my life. Unfortunately, it wasn’t so simple. One doctor led to another doctor that led to surgery.

Long story short - Multiple doctors visits (too many to count), biopsies, scans, immunotherapy (infusions), pricks and pokes led me to where I am today. My cancer has spread fast and furious from my right groin area (where cancer was removed from my surgery) to my neck and pretty much everywhere in between. This has led to a devastating Stage IV diagnosis. 🥺

My current treatment is multiple pills twice a day that I started on February 19th. I call them my “attackers”! I’m still working full-time and trying to keep up with my normal routine (I’ve had to slow down a bit).

I will continue to update you on my journey or explain more details (or pictures offline) for those that are curious. I’m an open book!!

PSA: Go to the Dermatologist to have a full body check AND wear sunscreen!!!
